Angel’s blood: Book Review

As someone who struggles to get into reading. I can honestly (and somewhat shamefully) say that I have probably read 2 books a year for the past few years. Mainly because with so much happening in the world, and in my own life. Reading can feel more like a chore than anything else. Something that requires me to think more than I care to when all I want to do is wind down. Which is why I was pleasantly surprised to find myself at the end of a book wanting more.

The book in question is “Angel’s blood” by Nalin Singh. A critically acclaimed paranormal romance writer who makes vampires, and the thought of them, seem appealing. Whilst the book won’t appeal to everyone’s taste. What it does do is take the reader on an adventure. One so far outside what we encounter in our everyday lives that it makes reading easy again. Not only in the way in which she writes but in the way in which the story develops and make you feel like you are a part of it. Which is why, as a sci-fi, paranormal fanatic, this book ticked all the books for me.

Don’t be fooled though, its not just vampires, and angels, its also got a lot of steamy scenes, which put the book firmly in the adult section of books. But before you write it off as vampire porn, I must assure it is anything but. The book (the first in a series of 3) has a solid story line. And for those feeling a bit shy, mainly teases on the idea of sex for most of the book. Making it the kind of book that can easily take you out of any reality and into a sexier, more kickass one.
