I’ll have to admit, I am not a big reader. But when a book like “The handmaid’s tale” has everyone talking, I can’t help but be curious. After all, who wants to be left out of dinner conversations? I know I don’t. Which is why over the holidays I picked this book up whilst I was at the book shop. Whilst a part of me wanted to skip the book and go straight to the TV show (which is also making headlines). I have resisted the urge until I finish the book. Which at first glance is a bit slow.
For those of you not familiar with the author Margaret Atwood. She is one of the most celebrated female authors of our time. Both for her use of language and ability to capture emotion. And whilst the book speeds up and gets more interesting as you go along, it is definitely not an easy read. But it is a book you won’t regret getting your hands on.
