To start off with it is important to exfoliate often in winter. As strange as it may seem, exfoliation is really important to ensure our skin can absorb moisture. By taking off the dead skin cells it allows for the moisture to seep deep into the skin.
To exfoliate and moisturize skin and lips mix a teaspoon of sugar with a spoon of honey and smooth over face and lips. Not only is sugar a great exfoliate, honey is also a natural moisturizer. To apply use your finger tips to gently massage the mixture into your skin in small circular movements across the face and lips for 2 minutes. If you have time, leave it on for another 10-15 minutes before rinsing off thoroughly. Pat skin try and moisturize as usual.
For a natural alternative, use unprocessed coconut oil and almond oil are great natural moisturizers for the face and lips. You can use a few drops and just pat gently on skin avoiding the area around the eyes. This can be done a couple of times a day. If you do decide to try some home remedies, it’s important to test the mixture on your hand for allergic reactions.
