Ladies what’s your take on freelancing? I must say it really excites me. You get to to work for a variety of companies rather than working on a regular salary basis for one employer and you get to keep your own schedule. However, before starting on the road to freelancing, there are some things you need to bare in mind. Here are some key things to consider before you start freelancing;

1) The instability of your income – When working freelance, its easy to think you will get a lot of money and whilst you sometimes might, other times it will be hard. Which is why if you decide to freelance you need to still keep to a budget to see you through the quite months.

2) Laziness – I know, you probably don’t think you will be lazy, but its not that simple. After all, as your own boss you can choose to watch series all day instead of work. Which is why its important to have a schedule and “office” hours to show when you will work and relax.

3) Working too much – Whilst working for yourself is an ideal that most of us would like, it is also very stressful. This is because how much you work will determine how much money you get at the end of the month. Which is why its important to have a schedule and to take public and major holidays off.

Now that I have covered some of the things you need to look out for, here’s a list of jobs you can do as a freelancer;

  • Consulting
  • Translation
  • Transcription
  • Home baker
  • Book keeper
  • Website content writer

And so much more, the world is literally your canvas to carve out what ever services you can give to people from the comfort of your home. So whether you want to stay home to take care of the children, are not into corporate or just want to try something new, freelancing might just be for you. So ladies, what do you think of freelancing? Is it something you would try or not?
