Have you ever seen those women who look beautiful and well put together? They may not be wearing the most expensive clothes but they have great confidence and sense of style? Well I have, and for a long time I wanted to know what their secret was. That was of course until I found out that what they had was a sense of personal style. Personal style, for those of you ladies who don't know is a sense of style that speaks to you and who you are as well as what you do in your everyday life. After all, one of the secrets to great personal style is being comfortable to do the things you want to do, without feeling restricted by your clothes.

This means if you are a running around all day, dressing in a way that speaks to that. Or if you work in a corporate space finding ways to bring your personality through, without breaking the office dress code rules. Here are some easy to follow tips for finding your personal style:

  1. Research: Before you can figure out what you like, its a good idea to look at what is out there. Use social sites like pinterest or even magazines to get inspired. The more research you do the better.
  2. Play around: After finding some looks and styles that you like, it is a good idea to try them out. After all, how else are you going to know if the pencil skirt look you love so much works for you? So before deciding on a style or look, take some girl friends with you to a shopping center and try some clothes on. This is a good time for your friends to give you feedback on what looks good and what doesn’t.
  3. Build your wardrobe: Once you know what you like and what looks good on you, you can start building your wardrobe. So if pencil skirts and shirts are your thing, start collecting them. Find them in different styles, colors and materials to your wardrobe.
