3 reasons to cut your hair

I've always been a natural afro kinda girl. I liked how I felt like I was channeling my inner Solange Knowles. However I found out (after cutting my hair) that it doesn't matter what my crown looks like but mainly how I feel on the inside. As women, we tend to get sentimental about hair and that may be because of our upbringings. However, after cutting my hair I realized how liberating having short hair was. Not only is short hair hot right now but its also easy to maintain. Which is why I decided to share some things I learn't when I decided to go short

I’ve always been a natural afro kinda girl. I liked how I felt like I was channeling my inner Solange Knowles. However I found out (after cutting my hair) that it doesn’t matter what my crown looks like but mainly how I feel on the inside. As women, we tend to get sentimental about hair and that may be because of our upbringings. However, after cutting my hair I realized how liberating having short hair was. Not only is short hair hot right now but its also easy to maintain. Which is why I decided to share some things I learn’t when I decided to go short:

1. Short hair can make you feel sexier. Not only can you feel really empowered, it boosts your confidence too. Since my haircut I’ve been feeling like superwoman who can conquer anything.

2. It’s exciting. Sometimes styling the same hair can be super-boring, which is why any time you cut your hair, you should be excited to step out of the chair with a fresh hairstyle knowing you look your best.

3. Your hair will most likely look healthier after making the change. I’m not saying your hair looks bad now, but sometimes you can hold onto a style for so long that it ends up looking stringy and thinner at the ends. Which is when cutting it all off can be a big break for you and your hair. Allowing new, strong hair to grow.

So remember ladies your hair doesn’t define you. You define you. As Indie Arie once sang,”I am not my hair”.
